Nepenthes veitchii X Tiveyi is a complex hybrid involving N. veitchii and N. X Tiveyi ( N. maxima X veitchii). I hope I have that right. I got this particular plant from Tristan's Nursery in Hawaii and I believe it is one of their original crosses. Tristan's has sold several plants of this hybrid and there seems to be some variation. I really liked this one because it is showing so much N. veitchii in it. The N. maxima doesn't appear at all from this pitcher. I took the photo of the plant as it arrived. I'm growing this outdoors as a highlander under shade cloth. I'm hoping that it will be a faster grower than N. veitchii which is really slow. Also, I don't know how low in temperature this hybrid can take. It should be alright into the mid 40's without any damage but I may have to move it indoors if it starts to stress. It should be a relatively easy growing hybrid under intermediate to lowland conditions.
