Nepenthes "Red Dragon" is potted plant variety hybrid from Exotica Plants. They are tissue cultured and made available cheap compared to other offerings. They make excellent starter plants and can be grown in a wide variety of ways. They have hybrid vigor and are very hardy. I have a few clones that I got from Sunbelle that range from this striped clone to a maroon red clone. I don't know how many clones are in tissue culture at this time. Other growers have guessed as to the parents but so far, no one knows for sure. The "Dragon" series are popular plants that should become very popular in the next year or so. Right now I'm growing my Dragons outdoors on a deck and they seem to be doing fine but would grow quicker in a greenhouse environment.
