Nepenthes carunculata X truncata is hybrid between a highlander and lowlander. This hybrid from Exotica Plants should be fantastic. I grow the N. carunculata var robusta and it is maroon and big. Combine that with N. truncata and you could have a monster plant. It might even resemble the highland black varieties of N. truncata. My plant is still young so the pitcher above isn't representative of what adult pitchers may look like. It does fine for me in typical highland conditions but should be able to tolerate intermediate conditions indoors as well. I have a feeling this will be a popular plant to get in the future. Popular Exotica hybrids can be available for short intervals and then disappear for years. When they reappear they are always a lot more expensive.
